Grand National - At The Races

Four for the National: Anthony Ennis

ANIBALE FLY and Tiger Roll both bring a touch of star quality to what looks an excellent renewal of the Randox Health Grand National and with both having experience of the course from last year, providing they don't get brought down there's every reason both of them will be in the frame again.

TIGER ROLL is some horse, he seems to have the cruising speed of a two miler yet also possesses the ability to stay four miles plus, a truly potent combination and I would dearly love to see him do the impossible but the nagging doubt is that it just never happens anymore!

Anibale Fly is 4lb better off at the weights with the Tiger and that should in theory make it closer.

Barry Geraghty's ride is an absolute class act himself, third to Native River in the Gold Cup last term and then a superb staying-on second to impressive scorer Al Boum Photo in chasing's blue riband this time around. Despite his big weight he has to be in the shake-up and is my idea of the winner.

My other two are Nick Alexander's likeable grey LAKE VIEW LAD who should give Henry Brooke a good spin. This reliable jumper is a proper stayer and ran a nice trial for this when third behind Beware The Bear in the Ultima at the Festival. Granted some good fortune he should make the frame.

Finally, I think RAMSES DE TEILLEE should give his regular partner Dave Noonan a good ride. Another one to have form in the big staying chases this season - his Welsh National second place was an excellent run, and David Pipe's charge would appreciate any further rain.

Good luck to everyone, enjoy what should be a great spectacle and let's pray all horses and riders return safely.
